Easter. How did that happen? Wasn’t it just Valentine’s Day? This next Holiday crept up on me when I wasn’t even looking- or planning. Yikes!
OK. So I started to sew for the kids’ baskets tonight (Yes, my 10 year old informed me earlier this evening that she does in fact still believe in the Easter Bunny~and by the way could I make those Carrots with the Clues again this year? Hmmmm).
So I hopped on over to Coloured Buttons and found a wonderful tutorial for a Baby-in-a-Pouch. It was so cute I decided to make a few for my girls.
Instead of a baby, though, I made it a Bunny. I just love how it turned out!
First I started with a Naked Bunny…
Next I gave him a diaper, cause who wants to clean up that mess?
Then I made him a little pouch to live in.
Aw. He’s cute when he’s sleeping, isn’t he? Just like my girls.
For the next one, I decided to alter the plans a bit to suit my 4 year old’s needs.
First, I found another naked bunny (what is going on in my house?) and this time he was sleeping standing up, leaning on a candle.
I made this one a diaper too. Necessity.
And then I put him in his house~ but his house has VELCRO~ and a deeper pocket!
I fastened his Velcro closure, and said “Good-night!”.
Since I found him standing up, he doesn’t mind sleeping that way again.
And that is it! As you can see from the amount of photos, I had so much fun with this. I hope my girls enjoy these little guys as much as I do!
Stay Tuned for more Easter Basket treats!
Wow, I love your little bunny-in-a-pouch. He’s really sweet! Thanks for showing me, it’s fun to see how other people make your tutorial. Also, loved your carrots with clues…reminds me of the things I used to do with my kids when they were little. Happy Easter!
Love the bunnies! I’m starting to notice a theme in what you do Michelle: wrapping people (especially small people) and things (anything in reach) with beauty and comfort~ You are truly a mom~spectacular~!!!
Thanks Trixi, for sharing your tutorial. I love tweaking them a bit and making them my own:)
Jessie~ I love how you make these wonderful observations that I would not normally see on my own! I didn’t even realize that I do that:)
